Once upon a time...

A hidden gem among the rural accommodation in Fuerteventura. A house full of humility, full of beautiful details, which you will find without expecting it, and which has been classified as an Emblematic House. If you read on, you will find out why.

Its owners...

Ramón and Toñi are the owners and they will welcome you when you arrive, taking their time to show you the house, the facilities and the information about the place so that when you arrive you will feel at home and you will see that everything is perfect for you and yours. We won't give you more details, but we would like to highlight the preparation work of the owners so that when you arrive you feel special, not just another guest, but someone who leaves their mark on the house. 

The uniqueness of the space...

There are references that since the 19th century Rafael Rodríguez Brito and his wife Antonia de Armas settled in the "Sitio", today called Casa Abuelo Rafael.

It was a place and farm with its own dry land agriculture, with nateros and gavias to the west of the village of Los Llanos de la Concepción of which today we can see traces in the surrounding landscape.

According to the memories of one of the granddaughters (mother of the current heiress of the house), Rafael had a white camel, with which he used to sell what he grew, sometimes in exchange for fish, to the village of El Cotillo.

The house is built on a 5,350 square metre plot of land, occupying approximately 200 square metres in an L-shape, a typical traditional architecture of Fuerteventura to protect from the winds, and with very thick stone walls, to maintain an ideal temperature.

Inside, the decoration and small details are just one of the signs of love for the guests. The kitchen is huge, traditional, and there is also a wood-burning cooker that can be used to heat tea or feel the warmth of home on a cool spring evening. 

The Majorero courtyard, which the rooms of the house overlook, is the soul of this place, with its contrast between the old and the traditional, its indigenous plants, flowers and traditional objects. A sensory luxury between modernity and comfort, such as the hot water jacuzzi with solar energy in this traditional courtyard, looking at the stars or a nap on a Balinese bed, a barbecue and a wood-burning oven. A dream for many to enjoy the wonderful climate of the island.

Outside, we also find a swimming pool with solarium, protected from the trade winds, which becomes the perfect place to relax and unwind.

The surrounding space...

It is a house located in the middle of other natural jewels, surrounded by peaks and mountains, viewpoints and local villages, where you will always find a friendly conversation and interesting stories from the past and present.

The house is located in the vicinity of the Los Molinos Dam, where numerous bird species come together, close to the west coast of wild beaches and nearby geological areas that show you the oldest island of the archipelago, or core areas of the Starlight Reserve of Fuerteventura for astronomical observations.

Romantic getaways, enjoying a jacuzzi or swimming pool while stargazing and a pool to soak in during hot days.

Small and intimate private groups, for meetings, retreats or family holidays. 

A space with privacy to enjoy intimacy and if you love to travel with your pet this space is ideal for you to enjoy together. 

Silence is also the protagonist here, and accompanies any activity you want to do, work, paint, study or simply do nothing.

The warmth of the firewood in a cool evening, the sound of the water in the jacuzzi, the stars reflecting on the leaves and blues, a space where your skin prickles with the preciousness of experiencing the warmth of the water and the coolness of the night.
