Los Molinos Interpretation Centre
At the Los Molinos Interpretation Centre you will discover the importance of gofio for the island of Fuerteventura, and during your visit you will get to know the heart of a mill in a beautiful traditional Majorero setting.
You will learn a great deal of information about the different ways of obtaining flour from the grain (mortar, manual mill, tahona, mill and mill), as well as see diagrams and plans of different types of mills and understand how they work.
When you enter the museum, you will notice a continuous noise produced by a man from the museum grinding millet (corn) in situ, with a manual mill, which is really interesting to see how it works and to see the fruit of his work in the form of flour.
It is also interesting to see the differences between a mill and a grist mill, and to visit the real and completely restored mill that is located in this centre.
This museum is located in the village of Tiscamanita, at the entrance of the village coming from Antigua, in the centre of the island of Fuerteventura.
