Gastronomy on a Farm in Fuerteventura
A culinary journey through Fuerteventura and its gastronomic riches.
During the excursion we will go from farm to farm and taste the local products.
For example, the fruit of the Indian tuno cactus, the Canarian mojos, jams and marmalades, as well as the production of extra virgin olive oil. We will also visit a cheese factory.
We will visit 3 small ecological farms.
The cultivation of the land and the way of life with livestock on a desert island is presented.
CACTUS FARM
In the unique cactus farm we will meet Leo, who will teach us the secrets of yesteryear. The Indian cactus juices, mojos and jams of this farm are based on natural ingredients. The cactus fruit is rich in vitamins and red antioxidants.
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL TASTING
We will learn about the cultivation and production of organic extra virgin olive oil at the second farm. The oil tasting is part of our visit.
GOATS AND CHEESE
The third stop is the Julián cheese factory in the centre of the island. There are different cheeses to be tasted on the farm. The goat's cheese is made using traditional methods with milk from their own farmyard. The cheese dairy has won prizes at various international fairs. You can taste the cheese and pella de gofio, a food related to Canarian culture.
