Once upon a time...

In the Sitio de Juan Bello, in a village called Villaverde, a very old rural stone hotel with a famous traditional restaurant. They called it Mahoh, as it is an old aboriginal name which means "My land, my country" and today derives from the name of the inhabitants of Fuerteventura, "majoreros".

The owners...

The owners, Tinín and Zaragoza, well known in the north of the island, bought the ruined house in 1999, which is more than 200 years old, and rebuilt it with great care and taste to reopen it in 2002.

Their son-in-law, Victor, decided to take on the responsibility of running the hotel and restaurant, with great passion, dedication and recognition.

The uniqueness of the space...

The house is built of volcanic stone, wood, and clad with traditional elements typical of Fuerteventura construction.

It was an old peasant house from the beginning of the 19th century.

Gastronomy, culture, tranquillity are words that transport us in this charming hotel, a corner specialised in Canarian food, with a privileged rustic interior environment, luxury and taste in Villaverde.

Hotel with a rural heart and a soul of progress, it has 9 rooms and an outdoor covered swimming pool.

The rooms welcome you with their rustic furniture, most of them restored and of great antiquity. The temperature, thanks to the walls, is perfect in summer and winter.

With 6000 metres of garden with huge native species, cactus and vegetation, it has a reading room with books, tennis court, heated swimming pool, solarium ..... It is ideal for those who want to escape from overcrowded hotels without giving up comfort and services.

Another quality is the professionalism of the people who make up the team, always attentive to guests and both in the restaurant and in the cleaning or maintenance service, they offer you a close treatment.

It is close to La Oliva which is a cultural enclave where you can visit the cultural centre, the church and the works of Canarian artists.

Surrounded by a natural world, the magical mountain of Tindaya, trails, horse riding in the nearby stable .... and easy access halfway between the beaches of Corralejo Dunes and the transparent beaches of Cotillo. mixture of sand and volcano.
